Momentary
In moments, life goes by...
Each as precious as a rose petal's scent... A moment.
Momentary
Was the lull in the autumn air
But in that moment, the rose shivered.
It saw the autumn leaves falling by
Its dew drops rendered dry,
Now; it saw its end unfold.
It held onto the stem, gripping tight-
With its sepals; It awaited the night
-The end of autumn, the dawn of cold.
In that moment,
It saw its end unfold...
It saw the things no other could behold...
Behind the cloak of smoke arising from a pinewood pyre..
It saw its life unfold before its eyes.
Its youth in a bud,
And its end with senility.
All of this, it saw...
In that moment.
In moments, life goes by...
Each as precious as a rose petal's scent...
A moment.
