Thanatos
“Dying is a wild night and a new road.”
– Emily Dickinson
– Emily Dickinson
The darkness that fills the soul
To it's very utmost brim
Is the fear that sears the heart
Of those living on whims
Death- maybe the most despised
Of all of nature's enchantment
Lies at hand forever
They say, death is the ultimate truth
The only thing that cures us from our plights
Look at it as if at a friend, an irrepressible curse
A chasm that all must fall into
Into the darkness, that harbors the sins
They say, 'all must die sometime'
What time? No one knows
The spirits always reside in the unknown
All that cross the path of death, lie cold
A black raven, that sweeps down in a gentle glide
Taking all that live beneath it's stride
The web of Thanatos, an unescapable tenure
All that encounter, never are secure
Bones, and blood and iron and kill
All lie lifeless before death's will
Be it Greece, Egypt, or the land of the golden bird
Death rules the heaven, and the earth
Though once Sisyphus might break through the bonds
The darkness prevails throughout eternity, and beyond
And those who witness, listen to my refrain:
Hear this not, for this is a knell
That summons thee to heaven, or to hell
Great job... Keep doing
