Unheard Voices
Words fall
unheard, each a hush so faint
That the wind
deafens the listener
No sound is
made, yet all is said
For both know
of what is to come
Winds will part
their ways
Barring every
sound.
Doomed to
distant moors,
They watch abyss
span the floors.
The gaps
widened, the wounds deepened.
No word was
said, silence ruled the moors…
For both knew
of what was to come.
They grew far
apart, farther still
Till no one
could gauge the chasm’s depth..
Storms ensued,
and thunder clashed
They were safer
with what they had
But one day,
the heath shook
Both were swept
to the edge
Of the chasm on
which they stood
-Full of unsaid
words… For now,
A whisper, an
indelible taint
Breathes in
quiet gasps,
For peace is
only held
By silenced
words.
